What advice would you give an incoming student who is First Generation?

“Transitioning to college is a huge step for both the student and the parent/family. Be sure to reach out to your family and keep that relationship alive. Make good choices and aspire to be an influential role model for your children/family! Live a progressive and positive legacy and remember to give yourself back to your community through service and volunteering! College is just the beginning to the next biggest decisions of your life! College is an investment in your future, be sure that the investment is profitable and impactful!”
